C – Notes

Candice had her first paid gig at the age of sixteen, as she began doing country club dates in and around her hometown of Worcester, MA.  After moving to Philadelphia’s Mainline in the late sixties, she put her singing career on the back burner and raised a family. Over the years, however, she found time to sing in gospel choirs as well as rock, pop and R&B bands.  As a member of One Voice, a non-profit group of vocalists from the Greater Philadelphia area, Candice has performed in and helped produce concerts benefiting various charities (Women Against Abuse; Circle of Care/AIDS Fund for Families; People Interested in People; and many others).
She has performed onstage with Heatwave and Celine Dion and in venues from Madison Square Garden to the Philadelphia Convention Center to Hershey Park on the east coast and Shoreline Amphitheatre on the west.  Candice has appeared in the Mellon Jazz festival (Philadelphia), headlined the annual Jazz on the River (Pittsburgh), been featured performer at Philadelphia City Council’s Jazz Heritage Series (Malcolm X Memorial Park, Philadelphia), performed for corporate functions and sung in a number of more intimate supper clubs in the Philadelphia area, including the Villa Strafford, the Blue Moon, Lakey’s and L2.
Her heart is in the music and once you hear her, you’ll understand why.  Candice doesn’t just sing the lyric, she feels it, getting inside the song as she delivers it to you.  She sings a song as though she were introducing her dearest friend to you; once you’ve been introduced, Candice, the song, and you become one.
